Ok let me start off by saying that this is bloody awesome! This definitely doesn't smell like your typical designer fragrance! Such a sweet, spicy and smooth scent! This is not a dirty Oud fragrance. It's an elegant and mature scent. The Oud is pretty dominant from start to finish, but it's not overbearing. In the opening I did get some pepper, rose, saffron, tobacco, cardamom and cloves. In the dry down some cedar, amber and incense came out to party. I did get a hint of jasmine and leather but it was way in the background. This is a complex and versatile fragrance. You can wear this to the office or on a date. As I said this is not a dirty Oud fragrance. Performance is pretty decent! I got 8 to 9 hours on my skin with a couple of hours of projection. John Varvatos Oud by John Varvatos is a Oriental Woody fragrance and was launched in 2014. It was created by Rodrigo Flores-Roux.
Top notes are Tobacco, Juniper berries, Nutmeg, Sage and Cypress. Middle notes are Saffron, Cinnamon, Pepper, Cardamom, Cloves, Turkish rose, Egyptian jasmine and Osmanthus. Base notes are Agarwood (oud), Cedar, Labdanum, Opoponax, Incense, Myrhh, Leather and Amber.
